The text of the story, which appeared in the August 30 issue, is as follows: Anniston developer Earlon McWhorter, and his wife Betty, announced a $5 million commitment to Auburn University?s College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) Wednesday. McWhorter, an Auburn alumnus, is president pro tempore of the Auburn University Board of Trustees and the developer behind the Lowe?s Home Improvement Store at McClellan. McWhorter?s $5 million gift will provide endowments to help the architecture school attract qualified faculty into its ranks. ?I?m flabbergasted,? CADC Dean Dan Bennett said. ?It?s phenomenal. ?I?ll tell you what it does? This gift by Earlon and Betty demonstrates a remarkable commitment both to our college and Auburn (University.)?
