Prorok garners national research award

Bart Prorok of the materials engineering faculty at AU’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has been awarded the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement award by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU).

The award--one of only 25 presented nationally--represents public recognition by academic peers of the quality and promise of faculty research. In an effort to assist with the progress of Prorok's research in nanomaterials and nanocomposites, the award carries a $5,000 stipend from ORAU that will be matched by AU.

ORAU's mission is to advance scientific research and education through academic partnerships. It has 91 university members and is headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Learn more at www.orau.org
