Frequently Asked Questions1. Why does Auburn have a Game Day plan in place? Safety, security, additional parking and to preserve campus landscape and heritage. 2.
What items may I bring in the stadium and on the shuttles? Any items allowed
in the stadium will be allowed on the shuttles. Prohibited items include umbrellas,
video cameras, backpacks, recording devices, artificial noisemakers, food/beverage
containers, bottles, weapons and stadium seats with arms. Alcoholic beverages
are not allowed inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. 3. Is there a fee to park on campus? The only lots that charge a fee are RV lots administered by the Athletics Department. For questions about RV parking, send us e-mail. 4.
How far away from the stadium are the parking lots? Because of the heavy volume of traffic in the immediate area around the stadium, fans are encouraged to park in the large grass lots on the corner of Lem Morrison Drive and Donahue Drive or in the Facilities Division parking lot on Samford Avenue. Tiger Transit shuttles will provide a convenient ride to the stadium area and back to your vehicle. Shuttle service is also available from Colonial University Village shopping mall and K-Mart (located on the corner of East University Drive and Opelika Road in Auburn) and the Tigertown shopping center off I-85 at Exit 58. For complete information, visit the Tiger Transit Web site. 5. What does the Game Day plan have to do with Auburn's decision to make the core of campus pedestrian-friendly? The decision was based foremost on safety and security. The university has approved a Master Plan that is currently being implemented. When the university institutes a pedestrian-friendly core campus, additional changes to Game Day will be made. 6. Will all campus buildings be closed? Academic and administrative buildings are closed on Game Day. Some campus buildings will be open. They are Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum, the Athletic Complex, Foy Student Union, the Alumni Center, The Hotel at Auburn University, Dudley Commons, Engineering Shop 1 (ground floor), Facilities Division Building 5, the Intramural Field House, the Old Physical Plant Building, Parker Hall (east end), Draughon Library, Ham Wilson Arena and Plainsman Park. Additionally, Haley Center will be open until kickoff. Jordan-Hare Stadium opens two hours before game time. (Open buildings are indicated on the Game Day map.) Smoking is not allowed in campus buildings. 7. Where will the modular restrooms be located? Modular restrooms are hooked up to the university's electrical, sewer and water systems. Please refer to the Game Day map for locations of restroom facilities. 8. Can fans save their tailgate spots? No one is allowed to reserve legal, paved parking spaces in the parking decks or university parking lots. Reserving tailgating spots in grass areas using stakes, ropes, ribbons, tape, chairs, tables, tents, vehicles or other items is not allowed until 4 p.m. on Friday, except for specially-permitted University events. Items found before then are subject to removal without notice or reimbursement. 9. How are the hot charcoal containers going to be used? A limited number of hot charcoal containers will be placed in tailgate areas. The containers are intended to be a safe means for disposal of hot charcoal briquettes. Tailgaters are encouraged to place their charcoal in the containers rather than dumping it on the ground. The design of the container is such that hot or cold charcoal may be placed in it. If a container is not available in the area in which you picnic, you are encouraged to remove your used charcoal from AU grounds for safe disposal. 10. What are the regulations on tents? Tents with stakes shorter than 12 inches may be set up after 4 p.m. on Fridays. Permits are required for any tent with stakes that are 12-inches or longer. Permit requests are handled online at www.auburn.edu/tents. 11. What times will the shuttles run? Shuttle buses will begin running four hours before kick off. For complete information, visit the Tiger Transit Web site. 12. Will shuttles run during the game? Yes, on a limited basis. For complete information, visit the Tiger Transit Web site. 13.
