Joseph S. Bruno Auburn Abroad in Italy is a unique semester-long study abroad experience located in the beautiful hilltown of Ariccia, 15 miles south of Rome.

By living and learning in a global community, participating Auburn students broaden their worldviews and increase their awareness and acceptance of cultural diversity. The program also enables them to gain confidence in their ability to function effectively overseas and develop a greater understanding of themselves and their roles as global citizens.

Led by College of Human Sciences faculty, special features of CHS@AU in Italy include small classes in the Palazzo Chigi, a papal palace renovated in the 17th century by acclaimed Italian architect Gianlorenzo Bernini; lectures and field trips led by Italian scholars that focus on Italy's historical and cultural heritage; and planned overnight excursions and day trips to various cities and points of interest throughout the country.
