DOUG BERKY BRINGS 'NO SHOW' TO AUBURN THEATRE

AUBURN -- The Auburn University Theatre on Saturday (Jan. 31) will present Doug Berky, who combines the classic performance arts of mime, mask theater and physical comedy into his performance of "No Show".

Tickets to the show, which begins at 2:30 p.m., are $10, and may be purchased through the box office at 334/844-4154.

Berky has been a practitioner of movement theatre since the mid 1970s.

He has a B.A. in drama from Furman University, attended the Dell'Arte School of Mime and Comedy, and was apprentice to mime artist Tony Montanaro.

As mask-maker and performer, he has traveled with Two Penny Circus of Barre, Vt.; Montanaro Mime Theatre of South Paris, Maine; and the touring company of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y.

Since 1983, Berky has toured his one-person show across the United States and abroad to theatres, schools, colleges and churches.
