AUBURN -- Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has established its first engineering summer camp for the week of July 11-16.

Teams and Individuals Guided by Engineering Resources (TIGER) summer camp will be a residential camp for students who will be in the seventh or eighth grade next fall.

"We are excited about the camp. It's a fabulous experience in engineering for young students," said Shirley Harris, student advisor in the Office of Engineering Student Services.

Program activities include workshops, tours and lectures guided by practicing engineers and engineering students who will answer questions about preparing for high school, college and a career in engineering. Campers will have 24-hour supervision by experienced counselors.

The camp fee of $285 includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee, lodging in a campus residence hall, meals, materials and supplies, organized social activities, a camp hat and a welcome event on July 11 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Only 40 spaces are available, and registration deadline is April 30.

Registration forms can be acquired from Engineering Student Services by calling 334/844-4310.
