AU SBDC TO HOST TWO-HOUR ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR

AUBURN -- The Small Business Development Center at Auburn University will host a free estate-planning workshop for small business owners on Monday (June 9).

The two-hour seminar will begin at 6 p.m., in room 152 of the Lowder Business Building.

Representatives from the SBDC and AU faculty will participate in the workshop, says Jackie Di Pofi, SBDC director

"It is important for all individuals to understand that the state of Alabama has a plan for their estates if the individual does not, and it probably isn't what the individuals would wish," she says.

Estate planning workshop topics include what happens if an individual does not have a plan, basic documents in an estate plan, how to use a trust and a will and estate planning for business entities. Free publications will be distributed during the workshop.

Although the workshop is free, reservations are preferred and may be made by calling the SBDC at 334/844-4220.

The SBDC is an outreach unit within the AU College of Business. It provides information for small businesses through counseling, training and technical assistance. The center operates within an eight-county region around Auburn and is available to anyone interested in beginning or expanding a small business.
