JULE COLLINS SMITH MUSEUM OF FINE ART TO HOLD MAY DAY CELEBRATION

AUBURN - A May Day Family Celebration on Sunday, April 30 at Auburn University’s Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art will offer art, music, dancing and the traditional Maypole.

Visitors will hear music by The Saugahatchee Ramblers, dance around the Maypole, play croquet and enjoy children’s art activities. They will visit the museum’s galleries to view the Auburn University Art Faculty Exhibition, “Art and the World in 2006,” “Modern Drawings from the Ceseri Collection and the Georgia Museum of Art,” and the Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Collection.

The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and activities on the museum grounds will continue through 4 p.m. The museum will be open until 5 p.m.

Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics, picnic blankets, Frisbees, and friends to the day-long celebration.
