AUBURN - Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering will host the 2006 SAE Mini Baja East Competition April 13-15. Student teams from 65 North American universities will compete to design and build off-road vehicles capable of surviving the punishment of rough terrain and a deep water pond.

SCHEDULE
* Thursday, April 13: Static design and endurance events at Auburn University Student Activities Center
* Friday, April 14: Log pull, water maneuverability, land maneuverability, and acceleration, suspension and traction events at National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) test track in Opelika
* Saturday, April 15: 100-mile race at new 2.2-mile off-road track at NCAT

The best opportunities for visuals will be during the dynamic events on Friday and Saturday. To get a feel for the competition check out the Baja videos at http://eng.auburn.edu/admin/marketing/video-resources.html.

Call Jim Killian or Cheryl Cobb before you head to the site to secure easy access and close-in parking. You will need to report to the registration tent to do some paperwork and to pick up your wrist band. We look forward to seeing at Mini Baja East.
