GIFT TO AU COLLEGE OF BUSINESS HONORS TWO PROFESSORS
AUBURN - J.R. and Carole Parrish of Winder, Ga. have established a scholarship
endowment in the Auburn University College of Business to honor two faculty
members and long-time friends, H. S. Feild, Jr. and Achilles A. Armenakis.
Both Feild and Armenakis began their careers at Auburn in 1973 and are
senior faculty in the Department of Management. Feild, an expert in human
resource selection and research methods in human resource management,
holds the Torchmark Professorship of Management. He is also the brother
of Carole Parrish. Armenakis is the James T. Pursell, Sr. Eminent Scholar
in Management Ethics.
J.R. and Carole Parrish have served Auburn faithfully since his graduation
in 1954. They have been football scholarship donors for 22 years and are
lifetime members of the Auburn Alumni Association. They are members of
the Samford Society, Eye of the Tiger and the College of Business Shareholders
Club.
In honor of their support of the Auburn University Foundation, they were
asked to serve on the College of Business Campaign Committee in 2005 and
will be inducted into the 1856 Society, Auburns most prestigious
donor recognition society, in fall 2007.
What an honor to be chosen to serve in Auburns College of
Business financial campaign, work with the development staff, and honor
two distinguished professors as Drs. Feild and Armenakis, said J.R.
Parrish. Its great to be an Auburn Tiger!
Paul Bobrowski, dean of the College of Business and Wachovia Professor,
is thankful for the Parrishs support.
Our strength as a college comes in part from the support we receive
from wonderful people like J.R. and Carole who give of their time as well
as of their financial resources, said Bobrowski. Their continued
interest in the college is vital to our success.
The Parrish gift counts in the It Begins at Auburn campaign,
the universitys multi-year fundraising effort. The campaign goal
is to raise funds for all colleges and schools on campus as well as the
library, athletics, Auburn University at Montgomery and the museum.
The campaigns focus includes student, faculty and program endowments;
facility, equipment and campus beautification; research; and current operations.
To date, the College of Business has raised 90 percent of its campaign
goal.

and graduate levels by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business (AACSB International), the highest standard of achievement for

AACSB International accreditation. Institutions that earn accreditation
confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through
a rigorous and comprehensive peer review.

institution with more than 23,000 students and 6,500 faculty and staff.
