ST. DENIS JOINS AU AS UNIVERSITY COUNSEL

AUBURN - Janet A. St. Denis has joined Auburn University as University Counsel.

Prior to coming to AU, St. Denis served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Virgil Pittman, Senior United States District Judge in the Southern District of Alabama, for seven years. She is a member of both the Louisiana and Alabama Bar Associations.

Janet worked for the U.S. District Court, overall, for approximately seventeen years, as Staff Attorney in the Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans) for five years and in the Southern District of Alabama (Mobile) for five years.

She earned her law degree at Loyola University's School of Law in New Orleans and interned for the Honorable Martin L. C. Feldman, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Janet St. Denis is a native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada and chose to become a U.S. citizen in 1989. She earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Windsor in 1974, and a master's degree in Studio Arts from Tulane University in 1977.

She states that she feels it is an honor and a privilege to join the General Counsel’s Office and the Auburn University Administration.
