AU HOSTS SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS REGIONAL CONFERENCE

AUBURN – The Auburn University Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student section will host the SWE Region D Conference March 11-13 at the Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center.

This year’s conference theme is “Destined for Success: Paving the Way to Achievement in Engineering.” The conference is expected to attract more than 150 engineering students and professionals from the Southeast.

The event will include a day and a half of professional development activities and seminars for engineering students and professionals, as well as tours of local attractions and industries, such as Neptune Technologies and Briggs & Stratton.

At the Saturday afternoon career fair, students will have a chance to meet with representatives of companies such as IBM, Scientific Atlanta, Southern Co., Southern Nuclear, Harris Corp., Cisco Systems and Rheem. Other highlights include an etiquette dinner and a workshop on dressing for success.

Throughout the event, students will have numerous opportunities to network with engineering professionals to learn firsthand what it takes to succeed in engineering.
