SHAKESPEARE’S “TEMPEST” BREWING NEXT AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY THEATRE

AUBURN - “The Tempest,” the last of Shakespeare’s 38 plays, arrives March 7 - 12 at Auburn University Theatre.

Under the direction of visiting instructor Chris Qualls, recently of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the production promises to be an innovative interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays.

The play weaves a tale of shipwrecked travelers, magical spirits and two young people whose love frees them all in a production that focuses as much on the theatricality of storytelling as the humanity of its characters.

“The Tempest” is a fast moving and entertaining play featuring magic, music, spectacle and some of the most memorable characters in all of Shakespeare.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 7 - 11 and at 2:30 p.m. March 12. Admission is $20 for the general public, free to Auburn University students with a valid AU I.D. and there are special rates for AU faculty and staff, seniors and children under 18. Please call the ticket office at 844-4154 for more information, or visit our web site at www.auburnuniversitytheatre.org.
