OVERVIEW
This panel series explores a variety of issues that pertain to war, peace and justice around the world. The speakers discuss pressing issues and provide students, faculty and the public with an understanding of America's place in the world and the public's relationship with current events as they emerge locally and globally at home and in other regions.
 
The series focuses on::
*
the historical backgrounds of peoples, cultures, religions and political geographies in particular regions and in transnational and transcultural interchanges.
*
a variety of viewpoints on current issues relevant to America's engagements with the peoples of other nations and regions.
The series asks the following questions:
1.
What cultural ideas and interests shape U.S. foreign policy, American business interests and cultural exchanges with people of other regions?
2.
What cultural, environmental, political and economic conditions exist for residents of these regions?
3.
How can American citizens better understand their roles and responsibilities in global affairs today?
